QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation, is a type of cosmetic tattooing that uses a specialized tattoo pen to implant pigment into the upper layers of the skin. The procedure aims to enhance facial features like eyebrows, eyes, and lips, or to camouflage scars and vitiligo, among other uses.

2. How long does permanent makeup last?
The longevity of permanent makeup varies from person to person, usually lasting anywhere from 1-3 years, depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and the specific procedure performed. Over time, touch-ups may be necessary to maintain the color and shape.
3. Does permanent makeup hurt?
Most clients report minimal discomfort during the procedure. Prior to the application, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to numb the area and reduce any potential discomfort.

4. How long does the healing process take?
Typically, the initial healing period takes about one to two weeks. During this time, the color and shape of the treated area may appear darker and bolder than desired, but this will gradually lighten during the healing process. Complete healing and color stabilization usually take about 4-6 weeks.

5. What factors can affect the results of permanent makeup?
Numerous factors can influence the results of your permanent makeup, including skin type (oily skin tends to fade faster), sun exposure (which can fade the pigment), and the colors used (lighter colors fade faster than darker ones). Aftercare is also crucial to achieve the best results and prolong the effect of the treatment..

6. Can anyone get permanent makeup?
Most adults are good candidates for permanent makeup. However, certain conditions may prevent or delay your ability to get these procedures, such as pregnancy, certain medical conditions, or if you're taking specific medications. It's essential to discuss your health history with your technician before the procedure.
